Shinkansen
Japan was the first country to build dedicated railway lines for high speed travel. Since march 2008 the Shinkansen was created meaning bullet train. It's a network of high-speed railway lines in Japan. The Shinkansen is the world's busiest high-speed rail line. Carrying 151 million passengers and transported over 6 billion passengers than any other high speed line in the world. Though largely a long-distance transport system, the Shinkansen also serves commuters who travel to work in metropolitan areas from outlying cities.

This was very interesting. I never knew that Japan was the first country to build railway lines. I wonder what other countrys took this idea for themselves. 151 million passengers is so many! How long do the railway lines go? Overall I think this was a good wall post that I would have never known otherwise.
ReplyDeleteI'm on the same track as Christine, I did not know that Japan was the first to be so innovative to build high-speed railway lines. I truly wonder how big of a necessity this was to travel around their country that they ended up creating such a high-speed train. I wish one day I can be fortunate enough to have an experience like riding on a high-speed train, I heard they travel at very high speeds which is exciting to say the least.
