Tokyo sky tree

The soon to be tallest building in Japan will be the Tokyo Sky Tree 東京スカイツリーwhich is slated for completion in the Spring of 2011. Long discussed, the tower is being constructed by a group of six terrestrial broadcasters (including NHK) who will use it to transmit digital television signals.

When completed, the 634 meter tall tower will stand out in Tokyo’s skyline and the tower’s observatory will be open to the public in the spring of 2012.

  1. I looked up the picture of this building and its going to be beautiful. The architecture of the tower is done so nicely. What is this building going to be for though? Or are the broadcasters who are building it going to make it a broadcasting building? Whatever it’s going to be its going to look awesome!

  2. Wow, as a future architect I really have a strong appreciation for japanese architecture. It reminds me in a sense of Dubai with it's skyscrapers.

    Cool post!
